Municipal employers and international co-operation
Local Government and County Employers KT promotes the labour market interests of municipal employers at international level.
Collective bargaining and agreements
In Finland, as in other Nordic countries, the municipal bargaining system is similar to that used in the private sector. The local authorities are important employers.
Municipal sector and personnel
One-fifth of Finland's employed labour force is employed by a local or joint authority.
Office and delegation
KT employs about 70 persons and its power of decision is exercised by its board and divisons.

Municipal agreements
About 80% of all employees in Finland are members of a union or representative organisation. In the municipal sector the ratio is 88%. Non-unionised employees also fall within the scope of agreement application.
Työllisyyden oltava liittokierroksella kärjessä
Seuraavalle neuvottelukierrokselle pitää mennä työllisyystavoite edellä. Siksi on välttämätöntä jatkaa hyvin maltillista kustannuskehitystä, korostaa KT:n työmarkkinajohtaja Markku Jalonen.
– Vain se pitää yllä talouskasvua ja edistää työllisyyttä.
Sysselsättningen bör ha högsta prioritet vid förbundsförhandlingarna
Följande förbundsförhandlingar måste fokusera på sysselsättningsmålet. Därför måste den mycket återhållsamma kostnadsutvecklingen fortgå, säger arbetsmarknadsdirektör Markku Jalonen vid KT.
– Det är bara på så sätt som den ekonomiska tillväxten upprätthålls och sysselsättningen främjas.
