Local Government and County Employers KT promotes the interests of Finnish municipalities, joint municipal authorities and wellbeing services counties on the labour market. Finland has 309 municipalities, more than 100 joint municipal authorities and 21 wellbeing services counties, which employ together about 434 000 people.

Local government and county employers are for instance

- comprehensive and upper secondary schools, vocational institution
- day care and youth affairs centres, homes for elderly
- libraries, museums
- local traffic as well as fire and rescue departments.

The local government services sector and wellbeing services counties employ about 434 000 people and comprise more than 7,000 different occupational titles. In October 2021, a full-time monthly salaried worker earned on average 3 454 euros a month.
